Check out our neighbourhood
We are also about a 40 minute walk away from Cornwall Park. This stately park, perfect for hiking, jogging and cycling, is the site of One Tree Hill and was once one of the largest Maori fortifications (pa) in New Zealand.
Yoga Siromani Homestay Retreat is also around 40 minutes’ walk to Mt Eden Domain, where you can obtain a breathtaking view from Maungawhau-Mt Eden, one of Auckland City’s highest dormant volcanoes and a distinctive feature of our landscape.
Big King Reserve is ten minutes’ walk from the house and was once the site of a Maori pa. Big King has retained Maori earthworks from that time such as sweet potato (kumera) pits and terracing. From the summit you can enjoy stunning panoramic views of Auckland from west to east.
The TSB Bank Wallace Arts Centre is approximately 40 minutes’ walk away. Located in the historic Pah Homestead in Monte Cecilia Park, the arts centre hosts a changing modern art programme of free exhibitions curated from the James Wallace Arts Trust collection as well as regional touring exhibitions.
Mt Eden Village is 30 minutes’ stroll from the house and is a lively centre of cafes, restaurants, boutiques, bookshops and galleries.
